I got to see an emergency landing today at Porter County Municipal Airport in Valparaiso Indiana (VPZ).  I was taxiing out to runway 18 at VPZ when I saw a Piper Warrior PA28-161 do a touch and go on runway 18.  I guess on the upwind the student and instructor lost their engine.  That’s when I heard the instructor say "emergency landing runway 9" then made a left turn and landed just past runway 9 in the grass, next to the localizer.  The two on board said they were fine and I don’t think there was any damage to the aircraft.
